Thanks for checking back in! As promised, here’s a summary of my blogging experiences last month! If you want to see where the magic first happened the first two months, click here. Otherwise, please enjoy Blog Journal January 2015!
January was a big month for me! I learned and tried so many new things for my blog.
I also finished my Ed2Go Course, How to Write Effective Web Content. It was a really great course. I feel more confident in my writing already! I’m writing in a more active voice and with less rambling! That’s a win for you as much as it is for me! If you’d like to learn more about this great course, click here or on the pic below:
January Income / Expenses / Viewer Summary
Income: $8.13 – from Amazon links! Okay, this is hilarious though – I didn’t actually get paid yet. Amazon has a $10 minimum payout so they’re holding my $8 bucks hostage until I make $2 more! On the plus side, at least I learned how to read my Amazon affiliate fine print this month!
Expenses: $0
Views: 185 – aww yeah! that’s like 6 a day! 🙂
January Task List
- Signed up for multiple different affiliate accounts. I promised myself when I wrote the FPM mission though that I would only promote products I personally use and believe in. Here are the companies I’ve established links with this month:
- Commission Junction. It’s a clearinghouse for many different companies’ affiliate links programs. I found them via Vega. Read next.
- I love VEGA products and personally believe in them. It’s the only “supplement” I use and recommend. It’s all natural, vegan, sourced sustainably, and they have a great corporate culture as well.
- Power Systems, a fitness equipment company. Also via Commission Junction. I use their products every day at the gym and have several in my home collection as well.
- Bluehost, a website hosting company. I have had a great experience with them so far, and like Bjork and Lindsay at Pinchofyum.com, wanted to add this to my website as a resource for fellow bloggers.
- To keep these different affiliates and social media accounts organized, I started a separate notebook just to track and store all of my website and business usernames and passwords.
- Organized and updated my Google + page.
- Started a new Facebook “business” page – Lauren Milner Fitness. So that I can have a place to start building FB presence while keeping my personal life and business profile separate.
- Posted 4 articles. 1 was a recipe. 2 were on military books. 1 was the Dec blog journal. I realized (duh) that I better start posting more articles on FITNESS, not just what I “feel like writing about today.” Goal setting is a must!
- Resolved to write 2 posts per week going forward. One has to be a fitness article and the other can be a recipe or random musing. But the fitness has to be the anchor.
- Ongoing – Pinterest. When I’ve got a little spare time (LOL) at night after kids’ bedtime or on the weekends, I like to browse and enjoy Pinterest. With a purpose of course 😉 I have been trying to add as many relevant pins as possible to my fitness, healthy recipe, and mental toughness boards. Just casting that net. They say the blogging business is a numbers game. My husband would say I’m just trying to rationalize a way to say I’m being productive when I’m wasting time pinning. It’s all in your perspective I s’pose!
- Inspirational Books of the Month:
- Mere Christianity – is CS Lewis not brilliant?
- Athletic Body in Balance
- The Bible
- Yogafit
- If You Give a Pig a Pancake and Jesus Wants Me for a Sunbeam. Inspiring because they were read to me by my five year old son, who’s learning to read!
